Feel at ease in your body
If you are seeking more comfort and safety in your body, a calmer and clearer mind, and a reconnected and nourished spirit, you are in the right place.
my bodywork treatments are for you if you are:
❋ experiencing pain, discomfort or a sense that something is out of alignment
❋ feeling anxious, stressed or that your nervous system or emotional state needs a reset
❋ wanting to feel more connected to, aware of and at ease in your body
You’ll find working with me especially beneficial if you have a sense of connection between what you’re feeling in your body and what you have been experiencing emotionally or personally, whether recently or in the past.
my philosophy and approach to bodywork
My approach to bodywork has been developed over more than 15 years of practice and is truly holistic in supporting your body, mind and spirit, bringing you physical relief, and a new sense of insight, freedom and integration.
Everything that we experience in our bodies has multiple layers. Together we attune to your current physical, emotional, mental and spiritual state and their subtle connections.
Below are some of the bodywork modalities that I’m trained in, which I combine as guided by you and your body.
-
Emmett Technique is a gentle form of therapy where light touch is used to elicit a subconscious relaxation response in the soft tissue. It can help with pain and discomfort, restricted movement, fluid retention and emotional balance.
-
Five Element Acupressure uses acupressure points to shift and rebalance energies that influence the organs, body, mind, emotions and spirit.
-
McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release involves gently manipulating scar tissue to relieve pain and restriction, altered sensations in the tissues, fluid retention, and emotions associated with the wound. It also helps change the appearance of scars.
-
Spinal Alignment uses gentle pressure and manipulation around the vertebrae of the spine along with the breath to realign the bones and ease impingements and tension on the surrounding structures.
-
My bodywork incorporates aspects of other modalities I’ve explored over the years, which include trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, Vipassana meditation, Yoga, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Bowen Therapy, EFT Tapping, body mapping and generative somatics. I also draw on the work of my father Michael Rozenfeld, who was my first bodywork teacher, and have built on his techniques to develop my own unique approach.
The bodywork modalities I practice have an emphasis on embodiment; the state of feeling deeply connected to and present in your body.
I provide a safer space for people seeking to incorporate embodiment into their personal development journey, as well as integrating trauma, access stored emotion, and expand perspectives and opportunities.
what to expect in a bodywork session
Each treatment starts with a discussion about what you’ve been experiencing, how you’re feeling in your body, and where you’d like to focus. We will do a relaxed postural assessment and I may perform some adjustments or muscle releases while you’re standing.
We then move on to the massage table for the main part of your treatment. Mostly you will be lying down but sometimes you will be seated. At times we may pause and check in on what you are experiencing. We’ll do simple movements to allow your body to integrate the changes.
Afterwards we’ll assess what’s changed and make further adjustments if needed. All treatments are performed fully clothed, except scar tissue release, which requires direct skin contact. I wear an N95 mask during treatments for your wellbeing.
